AURO International Research Network for Knowledge Transaction (AIRNKNT)

This international research network takes the form of a collaborative laboratory founded with the aim of providing a vibrant platform for scholars with intersecting interests who wish to conduct and promote critical and interventionist research. Being located in India, the network would turn to India as a point of reference from which to develop global comparative perspectives on issues related to humanity and even non-living human beings. The network believes that the different problems associated with the human predicament today are interrelated and that approaches to these problems therefore demand comparative interdisciplinary perspectives. As no single discipline concerning knowledge should provide the framework for enquiry hence the network will encourage multidisciplinary and interrelated perspectives to address the aims of the network’s four research clusters. This integrated approach will enable a critique existing discourses and the introduction of alternative frameworks and multiple lenses by which to explore and suggest solutions to existing social problems.

As the Human situation is changing at an exponential speed it is beyond the capacity of an individual, institute or agency to respond effectively, hence there is a need for collaborative research efforts between scholars and institutions from different disciplines. With these considerations in mind, the research network seeks partnerships with international scholars working on India in the following areas :

• Alternative Knowledge Systems
• Civilizational Heritages and Discursive Practices
• Precarity and Urban India
• Transnational Families

The research outputs from these four clusters will range from seminars, workshops, articles and book publications, which may impact policy making and foster capacity building. Research grants will be made available each year to scholars of any nationality, and awards will be made depending on the merit of the research proposals. A newsletter will be published every six months on the network website in order to keep members updated on the developments of the research network.

Submissions are invited from individuals, research networks and groups. For international scholars it is mandatory to identify a scholar from AURO University before submitting any proposal for research grant. Faculty members of AURO University are also encouraged to submit research proposals for funding in partnership with international scholars.

The AURO International Research Network for Knowledge Transfer has already achieved international recognition. It will work in collaboration with the international research network, “Challenging Precarity: A Global Challenge” based at the University of Northampton, UK.
